Kefa na česanie, hrebeň a nožnice (hrebeň a nožnice sú potrebné iba pri dlhosrstých druhoch morčiat).
Potrava.
Vitamínové kvapky a tyčinka s obsahom minerálov.
Potreby a nástroje na čistenie koterca.
Špeciálna škatuľa na prenášanie , v ktorej si morča prinesiete domov, alebo obyčajná kartónová škatuľa, do ktorej urobíte diery, aby do nej voľne vnikal vzduch. Ak vám cesta bude trvať viac než štyri hodiny, budete potrebovať drevenú debničku alebo košík pre mačku z umelej hmoty, lebo kartónovú škatuľu by morča mohlo premočiť.
Nikdy na dno koterca nedávajte piliny namiesto hoblín - sú priveľmi jemné a prachové. Vnikajú morčatám do očí a sposobujú im ťažkosti pri dýchaní. Drevo na hlodanie : nikdy nepužívajte makké drevo - veľmi ľahko sa štiepe. Nikdy nedávajte do koterca nič, čo je vyrobené z tenkého plastu - ak morča zhltne takýto predmet , nedokáže ho stráviť.
Koterec
Koterec je rozdelený na dve časti- tmavá, určená na spanie, má plné dvere, denná časť je vačšia a má dvere z pletiva, cez ktoré vniká dovnútra svetlo a vzduch.Koterec by mas stáť na nožičkách, tehlách alebo na stolíku,aby bol chránený pred vlhkom, prievanom a pred inými zvieratami.
Koterec pre morčatá predávajú obchody s potrebami pre chovateľov, ale možete si ho kúpiť aj z druhej ruky, či sami vyrobiť.Je veľmi doležité, aby bol koterec dostatočne veľký a bezpečný pred inými zvieratami.
Jedno alebo dve morčatá budú potrebovať koterec aspoň 90 x 40 cm a minimálne 38 cm vysoký. Tri morčatá budú potrebovať koterec o 15 cm dlhší.
Aby dovnútra pri daždi nezatekalo, mala by byť na streche nepremokavá krytina, zvažujúca sa dozadu a presahujúca cez okraje. Ak je strecha na pántikoch, može sa za pekného dňa otvoriť, aby mohol dovnútra vnikať vzduch. Nikdy to však nerobte, ak je na blízku mačka.
Najlepšie miesto na koterec Morčatá potrebujú svetlo a vzduch, nesmú však byť vystavené extrémnemu teplu ani chladnému či vlhkému počasiu. Zrejme budete musieť koterec stahovať podľa ročných období.
V zime nechajte koterec v dome alebo v byte. Vyberte svetlé, vzdušné miesto, nie však v prievane alebo bezprostredne pri zdroji tepla. Ak je to možné pripravte si koterec skor ako donesiete morča domov. Na spodok dajte asi 5 centimetrovú vrstvu hoblín a do časti určenej na spánok pripravte kopku sena. Misky na jedlo a drevo na obhrýzanie patri do dennej časti, fľaška na vodu a minerálna tyčinka sa pripevňujú na pletivo dverí.
Nikdy nedávajte koterec do skleníka, pod sklenenú strechu alebo do okna kde praží slnko - teplo by bolo pre morča nebezpečné. Nikdy nenechávajte koterec v garáži - benzínové výpary škodia morčaťu. Nikdy nedovoľte, aby bolo morčatám príliš teplo alebo príliš zima a nikdy nenechajte koterec navlhnúť. Ak dáte koterec do drevárne, nikdy neprikurujte naftovými kachľami.
Nikdy nenechávajte koterec v miestnosti s televízorom. Vysoké tóny sposobujú morčaťu bolesť.

Kel, šalát a ružičkový kel sa može dávať morčatám ale len občas. Nedávajte im ľadový šalát. Niektoré morčatá obľubujú aj zelené papriky ( nie jadierka), uhorky, kaleráb a zeler.
Niektoré druhy zeleniny vhodné pre vaše morča: zmes pre morčatá, granuly pre morčatá, mrkva, okrúhlica, cvikla, brokolica, petržlen, potočnica, špenát, hlúbik a listy karfioly.
Vitamín C a minerálna tyčinka Je veľmi doležité, aby morčatá mali dostatok vitamínu C. Ten sa nachádza v zelenej potrave a niekedy sa pridáva do obilnín. Ale dávajte im aj vitamínové kvapky, ktoré dostať kúpiť v obchode pre chovateľov, a to predovšetkým v zime. Tyčinka s minerálmi dodá vašmu morčaťu všetky potrebné minerálne látky. Pripevnite ju na pletivo dverí. Nikdy ju neklaďte na dno koterca - nasiakla by močom.
Divo rastúce rastliny Nezbierajte ich pre morčatá, pokiaľ si nie ste úplne istí, že poznáte tie správne - veľa divých rastlín je jedovatých.
Koľko potravy spotrebuje jedno morča Každé ráno: Jednu malú hrsť suchej obilninovej potravy. Dve hrste čerstvého suchého sena. Každý večer : Dve hrste zmesi čerstvej zeleniny. Dve hrste sena.
Keď morča rýchlo skonzumuje všetko čo mu dáte pridajte mu ešte trochu. Nesmiete ho prekrmovať ale postarajte sa o to aby malo na noc seno, a pár kúskov zeleniny.Potrebuje jesť malé dávky, ale často.
